Restoring structure to college athlete compensation

Purpose of the Rule

Create a structured system that protects the integrity of college sports while fairly compensating athletes.

Compliance Philosophy

A core tenet of this proposed rule framework is that oversight should fall on institutions — not 18-year-olds!

Addressing Potential Booster Loopholes

For when a booster tries to woo a potential recruit through a bespoke scholarship program…

This doesn't mean a kid like Bryce Underwood can't get paid a lot – just trying to ensure there is a thought-out process to how that business is conducted

Escalating Institutional Sanctions

Structured accountability — protects athletes, pressures institutions.

First violation

Second violation

Third violation

The Compensation Mediation and Oversight Division (CMOD) oversees all sanctions, audits, and appeals.

Summary of Benefits

Stakeholder Benefits
AthletesFair pay, fewer distractions, brand freedom
SchoolsControlled budgets, clearer rules, team stability
NCAARegains trust, enforces parity, protects brand
FansBetter competition, less drama, healthier culture

I'm very in favor of paying players for doing a job, which is what is happening. But framing everything around "Name, Image, and Likeness" is not only inaccurate, it's ineffective. We need a fix.
